===Larger guild size ([[ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Larger guild size|Discussion]])===

Is there a particular reason why guilds are limited to 100 people? There seem to be several advantages to having a larger maximum capacity. Perhaps there shouldn't be a max cap at all. It would then be up to each guild to determine the number of members that best suits them.

; Why this is a good idea
* Larger guild = the option of greater diversity of people.
* With a 100-member capacity, it's not practical to meet the needs of players from all timezones -- you really do have to concentrate on having just Americans, or just Australians, or just Europeans, etc.
* With a 100-member maximum, to keep a guild active, it's desirable to have a two-week kicking rule. But this often forces officers to make difficult decisions -- kicking old friends, or kicking people who might come back, etc.
* There are a number of guilds (like Charter Vanguard) that have found the need to separate into more than one guild, although it would presmably be more convenient if they stayed in the same grouping.
* Larger guild = larger pool of players (in guild or in alliance) to help you when you need help.
* Larger guilds mean that guilds are more well-known (eg the LAZY alliance), and guild membership becomes more meaningful.
* Larger guilds = more scope for a guild to expand into a gaming community that plays across different MMORPGs.

;Why it may not work out
* Larger guilds = larger alliances = so much more craziness and spammage on alliance chat.
* Larger guilds = particular guilds become more powerful, and may have more of a monopoly on the game and on recruitment (they'd have more people recruiting, for instance).
===Rewards for PvE guilds ([[ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/"PvE faction points" / rewards for PvE guilds|Discussion]])===

In GW1, there are two types of guild/alliance that get any recognition: alliances that mindlessly grind in HFFF or play AB over and over (rewarded with town ownership), and PvP guilds (special trimming on capes).

Shouldn't there also be recognition for elite PvE guilds?

It seems to me there's two fairly straightforward ways to tell which guilds deserve recognition. Either maxed titles could be counted up, or there could be a system of points where varying numbers of points are awarded for different PvE actions (finishing a mission, finishing a dungeon, etc).

; Why this is a good idea
* Good PvE guilds get rewarded, and this in turn strengthens the GW community (creates more closely-knit guilds, provides a motivation to engage in and excel at PvE, and so forth).

;Why it may not work out
* A point system might be complicated to implement... and eventually might be open to exploitation, like HFFing.
