Players can specialize in other things like mining, cooking, fishing, or crafting. They can finally make some money in a different way than questing and farming.

; Why this is a good idea:
* Realistic features
* Other money-making ways
* Less boring; various options
* Lone activities
* Reduces grind built by farming
* Gives more ways to customise character
* Adds more things to do besides fighting
* Fun mini-games to do when you're bored of being pulverized by that boss.
;Why it may not work out:
* Much programming
* Would change Guild Wars fighting-based gameplay
* WAY too Runescapy
===<!-- Non Profession-Specific Armor --> (Discussion)
When you buy armor you buy it for your class, and then it is custimized to you and no one else can use it. I don't like this one bit.

If you were to allow people to buy armor(this would open up the possibility of clothing) from vendors that sold all different types to any proffesion except limit the ablity to wear it by profession, armor traingin, and race. Say you had Sylvari Elementalist. It could only wear cloth armor(or clothing), but if you had a Norn Elementalist it could train to wear metal armor. The custimizing to one player and on player only would also be eliminated in order to allow players to sell what they have bought and upgraded.

This would also allow for vast elaboration as to the style and material used. You could have copper plate metal or steel chain link. Enormous combinations would be available, and it would give players a much greater ablility to be unique then with the limited profession-specific armor.

By allowing you to add emblems and change the color very specifically on armor peices you would increase the uniqueness of a player's armor even more.

; Why this is a good idea
* This would increase a specific player's image and would increase their uniqueness.
* It would allow for players to sell armor and increase player to player trade.
* It would allow for things like armor drops and armor rewards in quests.
* Non profession specific armors are good as long as the necessary "armor level, are met but not as complicated as the suggestion suggest, all armors for all with the "correct armor level"
* Why does elementalist have to look like "elementalist"? Its battle, you go in with the armor you think would best shield your characters. non-prejudice armor is good.
* I think that you should be able to use the armor of your secondary proffession at least, because if an elementalist decided to be a secondary warrior in real life, he wouldn't go: "Ok, so I'm gonna go run out there in my cloth armor when I have enough money to buy some platemail".
;Why it may not work out
* It could become more complex than the casual player would want to deal with.
* Armor trading is something that won't b in GW2 4 sure.
* Try imagining ur cute little female ele buying armor from ur fellow gamer's female warrior, still looks reasonable??? -.-
* A Norn ele wouldn't b able to wear a metal armor, because there would b more metal than the metal in a human's armor (not so light now, eh -.-)
I have an idea of bringing night and day and everything in between to the game dunno if your already gonna do that but here's some things you could add if you are example of night: its very dark and sometimes you see red eyes in the dark which are from a dragon or evil creature which is luring at you you can still see a bit in the dark but the eyes comes from the trees or from a distance and you can also go to the eyes and find out what is watching you and it like runs away or disappears or you meet it if it runs or disappears it could like come back after a few minutes and when it becomes light and you still see the eyes you will see something jump out of the tree and runs hard away from you and leaves falling behind him could show a nice effect or it fly's away into the sky also leaves following then slowly falling down and disappears but everything else is normal when its day you can hunt and things like that and a sunrise and fall should make the game look awesome

Develwills
They are a breed type Golem, which were created through a magic unknown, for some magicians to protect what they appreciated.

The Develwill are well known by two words: devel and will. That means that develop at will, as if it evolved on their own.

They began as beings of flesh and clay, and then go changing with the experience his body for a better material such as rock, various metals, as well as other changed his body at the same fire. They not only grew in size! Magic found their origin through the will to change!

They are able to time and the experience of using magic in their strokes, and thus causing further damage. Over time, they can come to bear arms kind of overwhelming.
They have the ability to provide a rate of demolitions in their climb blows his primary attribute.

But they are also known for its magical halos used as a defensive or attack. When you reach the maximum level of development may even invoke a plague of poison or disease. That makes them very dangers!

Do not set up to be intelligent, but to know better than any other race his body. To improve its hardness or change in appearance only need to devour those materials with which they transform their body in such material. Unbelievable Truth?

They can not get to be very quick, but his strokes are the most fearsome. Their weapons are more coarse. Might use weapons of two hands on both hands!

Make this race possible for all the professions of guildwars 2 is possible, because you can adjust both the appearance, as common skills. Just need to design sketches and apply for each job. The same for the female gender and history.

; Why this is a good idea
* It's another way of looking at a race without armor. His armor would be changing the way their skin and their weapons would be the biggest.
* A very serious race requested by many, because it is not very common in a race like a game mmorpg.

;Why it may not work out
* It is bad for the people who dislike the possessions of weapons and armor as well as others.
* Apply the female gender in this race is complicated but not impossible.
* Because I understood, like one sentence of what you just said.
<!-- The name of your idea --> (Discussion)
So i'd love to see a halfling like race on gw2 and i think i'm not the only one!
Many people who have played dungeons and dragons do love the race and would most likelly enjoy to play something alike. Of course the race wouldnt be halfling but maybe something like a crossbreed of dwarves like for some reason dwarven family line would have got sylvari, elven or human blood wich made a whole new race. The new race would have similarities with halfling(short, pointy eared, slim and agile) Ofcourse they wouldnt be acting like dwarves, the sylvari, elven or human blood would live strong withn them and make them sought to live above ground with the nature. Or could even live on the burrows like halflings do, could explain the dwarven blood.

; Why this is a good idea
* Would add some humanity to others rather beastly races
* Who wouldnt love short folk?

;Why it may not work out
* Making exact halfling race would violate trade mark policy,
* Many players hate halfling-like races (The Joy of Punting Gnomes by Oxhorn, anyone?
* Asura. There ya go. There's already a short race, there doesn't need to be another
* Dwarves are no longer on Tyria (think back to the end of EotN)
* No elves in gw. And seriously, what kind of human would 'make love' to a dwarf?
* Yeah, no. GW is doing just fine without adding gnomes or ripping off DD and Tolkien. Plus we already have the obligatory 'short race': the Asura.

Armor Pieces of the Gods (Discussion)
Allow each of the 6 gods to have their own armor set and unique weapon that can be acquired by players. Each piece can look like a glob of ectoplasm but have its color associated to that god to make it easy to tell apart. Every God's piece should correspond to the professions that they are responsible for. Here is a list of conditions about Armor pieces of the Gods and their weapons:
*They should be moddable with an extremely high damage rating (weapon)
*Should be able to have numerous mods on it
*Should carry a variety of one-of-a-kind skills depending on the God
*If a character manages to collect all the pieces of the god's armor, they will take their appearance.
*Allow the weapon to be displayed in towns

These pieces should be found in a very hard elite mission reward chest, or a low-drop rate in every God's challenge (in order for this to happen, each god needs their own realm.) Here are some examples of what the pieces of armor can do:

*Dwayna: Give health regen but lower if it is a legging; higher on the chest and perhaps heal others if placed on the head. Grant healing bonuses as a weapon and allow for Air Magic to have a percentage chance to ignore armor altogether.
*Balthazar: Increased movement on legs, higher attack speed on hands and natural increased armor.
*Grenth: Have chance to hex all foes if on head. Can cause different conditions on foes for every different body part.

;Why this is a good idea
*makes characters look distinguished
*promotes elitism
*because all proffesions can interchange armor (OF THEIR RACE AND GENDER) in GW2.
;Why it may not work out
*subject to scamming
*unbalanced in both PvE and PvP
*promotes elitism
*makes many characters look the same, since if those armors have better stats than everything else, everyone would want to have them.
*promotes grind
*extremely rare, mechanically superior equipment would encourage real money trading.
*only having six sets and making each set profession-specific would exclude the other professions.
Multiple Voice Actors (Discussion)
While it was less noticable in Factions and Prophicies, Nightfall really cut out the replayability because of that same one voice actor. We should be able to replay the game with a few different professions without hearing the same voice in the body of a different character.

Give us the option of choosing from a handful of voices, or just to be able to change the pitch/tone. Hearing a skinny necromancer come out with the toughguy accent with that crazy look in his eye just looks and sounds odd.

I'm not sure if voice actors will be used in GW2. If they are though, these are some points that I feel should probably be taken into account.

Note: As with NWN, a voice set system could be used. By choosing what voice your character has at the beginning of the game, you could affect every instance of their voice acting, such as battle cries, grunts, and voice clips during cutscenes. By adding simple effects such as echo, distortion or tone/pitch changing, voices could be greatly customizable.

; Why this is a good idea
* Extra variety in players, each character feels different.
* Everyone has their own voice, and the protagonist of the game won't seem to "swap bodies" for a while in cut scenes. A different voice actor might be used to represent a body type, for example.
;Why it may not work out
* Do you have any idea how expensive/time consuming it is to record just ONE script, despite the fact that as a majorly successful gaming company they should actually HAVE the money and resources to do this for their next major online game??"
*So, even if there were only five races (Which there isn't) there would still have to be ten voice actors, not counting npcs. Now, say that there are eight races, that's sixteen. Now, how would you like to go through hundreds of dialogue lines for male and female of each race, and distort them so they sound different then the original, BUT STILL SOUND LIKE NORMAL TALKING. They'd have to rectuit ten more staff members and assign them to voice editing with the latest voice software, which would cost mega bucks, and then they'd have to pay the freaking SIXTEEN PLUS actors who get 40$ A FREAKING WORD!!!! I agree, it'd be cool, but it's just impossible to do all this, and still have enough money to make a game after it's done.
Explosions and Other Special Effects (Discussion)
Imagine Tyria, a full-scale war zone between the races, such as the humans and the charr. Since time has developed, perhaps weaponry has as well, and there would be more effects on the battlefields such as explosions, toppling over trees and sending objects flying in every direction.

Special effects adds to the creation of a realistic environment and interactivity, whereas the explosions could wipe out enemy or allied forces; a visually appealing trebuchet effect.

; Why this is a good idea
* More exciting battles.
* No, just pre-scripted explosion and falling stuff. They could make pre-scripts happen a lot, but if it was all generated on the fly, it would tax the server, as well as most computers, plus inevitably end up looking silly.
;Why it may not work out
* I think it can cause alot of clipping issues, n running problems.
Better Spell/Attack Effects (Discussion)
(You call that a Fire Storm?)
If you look at the spell effects in Neverwinter Nights or Dungeon Siege, both of which are much older than Guild Wars, the spell effects for the higher end skills put it to shame. In NWN, for example, when you let loose a firestorm, it's a violent torrential downpour of cinder and flame that shakes the screen and rumbles with a subwoofer-rattling growl. In Guild Wars...a couple of little fireflies fall on your target's head.

I recommend for Guild Wars 2, you take a page from the NWN playbook and make spells and attacks a more satisfying sight to behold.

So how will you know what to upgrade to a fantastic display of chaos and destruction? Well. The choice is yours. But if you want a guildine to start with... I have one word for you: Elite. When someone uses an elite skill, if there's one thing that should be over-the-top and unmistakably noticable, that's it. When a monk casts Ray of Judgement, make a brilliant flash of holy light engulf whatever it hits. When a mesmer casts Echo, make an ethereal aura pulse out and dissipate from their head, leaving only a hollow echoing sound effect to indicate it's waiting to activate. When a warrior uses Earthshaker...well...duh. Make the earth shake. When a Necro animates a Flesh Golem, make the corpse rattle and shake as the Golem's arms and bones lunge forth from the ground, devouring the remains before materializing into a walking cuttlebone of death and destruction. (insert Muwahahaha here)

; Why this is a good idea
* Ooh...pretty colors.
* Because with fewer skills in the game, A-net can afford to make elites look more awesome, make fire look more like fire, ice like ice, lightning more lighting, and so on.

;Why it may not work out
* Making every skill an elaborate display of color, light, and sound may promote serious performance issues for people who are spamming skills left and right, especially when it's a full 8on8 match with NPC's chiming in with their two cents. So you can't do this for *everything*.
* And ^this^ boys and girls, is why you should ALWAYS read the suggestion the whole way through. Just to clarify, he suggested this for ELITE SKILLS ONLY.

Old-style graphics (Discussion)
Having to design weapon and armor sets and draw terrain is considerably expensive for Anet. High detail adds overhead on the player's graphics card while running the game and costs Anet slightly on the server end.

I suggest older-style graphics, like something from 1999 or 2000. Realistic graphics isn't necessary and only detracts from more important things.

; Why this is a good idea
* Low polygon count and low detail means that meshes and textures download quickly.

;Why it may not work out
* Graphics from 1999 or 2000 are not exactly detailed but are definitely acceptable, a good compromise between "You need a better video card" and "Ugh. DOS-style Pixellation."
* Realistic Graphics look better! Buy a new video card if u need it XD
* I've seen some bad suggestions, but this is easily the worst. Are you a WoW player by any chance?
* How can you create something new using someting old? thats called "improvisation"= bad idea
* Bad graps = bad game!
Expansion of Tyria (Discussion)
Tyria is called a continent. But it doesnt feel like a continent and it never has. Now i know we dont want to change it too much.
I know Elona is blocked off. But personally, i would really like to see an expansion to the west, however minute. It ends at Maguuma and the
tarnished coast so abruptly, even if it only involed extending the area very slightly, adding a western coastline, and mabye one town and an outpost or two.
Everything takes work, but i beleive this would make the entire area feel more like a real continent. Right now tyria is more country shaped if anything.

Also it would be nice to access the forest west of the far shiverpeaks in its entirety, and the area north of maguuma as that hasnt even been touched on yet besides Umbral Grotto.

; Why this is a good idea
* Expands Continent, more room to explore
* A greater sence of newness on the same old continent
* More complete feeling
* How about they just expand the existing areas, to make it seem bigger.

;Why it may not work out
* Development time and effort necesary
* Might be other plans for the areas
