Mini pet battles (Discussion)
Add Mini Pet Battles!! The way it should play is like a mix of Polymock and the hero tutorial in nightfall. The players would stand on an area and be able to do almost nothing while they use the hero control panel to control their mini pets. Each player would enter with three pets each. It could go for teams of 2 players vs 2 others or a 4 way ballet royale, or a 1v1. The way it could be set up would be like random arenas, or team arenas where the game type is random. It should go until one team has been defeated. There should also be a title for it. It could take some time to work out a balance between the pets and a way to fight them.

; Why this is a good idea
* Mini pets are cool and what better way to show off then to kick butt with them
* Adds more to do in the game and a new title people can get
* Agree so you can like 'DO' some thing with mini pets. Only running after you its kinda dump to buy a mini pet
* i think its a very good idea, but dont make it too complicated, no builds or anything, just a way to show off your miniatures
;Why it may not work out
* This isn't Neopets...
* you can't make a skill build 4 a minipet (I know, the other idea is funnier -.-)
* yea... I'm gonna have my mini warthog fight some1's mini bone dragon -.-
* Mini Pets are not attackable or even have the ability to be locked onto, This was changed because there was cases of them dieing they would not add something they already remove.

Guys this is going to be a new game, you shouldn't refer to things that are the way they are or have been changed in Guild Wars.
<!-- You can delete all of the help text and tags. -->

; Why this is a good idea
* <!-- ... -->Well it is based on getting at the endgame about 60 skills, but you only have 6 on screen at a time, they swtich from row 1-6, and it allows for fast-paced twitched combat as you cant sit there waiting for you next move. It has a Targeting Retitcle in a Fantasy MMO, and you can dodge both spells, and projectiles in real time. I think there should be 18 skills with their Variations, only 6 present, but you can switch to any of your rows at any time(unless DP or some other Morale system penalty lcoked some tiers), Spellborn uses an Assain Combo-like system too, I do not find that exactly nessacary, because players could create their own ideas on what abiities should be used first, maybe one elite skill per tier. And maybe tiers could fuse skills from different tiers. I was thinking these controls. WASD movement, z zaxis, Left arrow (up a tier), Right arrow(down a tier), up/down arrow(same self-explanatory), numbers 1-6 skills accrodingly, Also in Spellborn elite skills are more powerful but there is a penalty if they fail. i kinda of like that. They dont have an energy system, but rather 3 stats that are buffed and debuffed in combat. Your health, physique, and i guess magic/energy which affect the strength of your skills. I like the Skilldeck and I think GW2 would get the system they were looking for from it. Combined with the Targeting Retitcle

;Why it may not work out
* Too Innovative or new for some people
* If not enough time spent on it then it could be feel sloppy, choppy, or feel too much like a FPS(Twitch action good, Too Twitchy that keyboard hurt fingers bad)
* If you want all the Features of Spellborn, then play Spellborn.

Idea (Discussion)

Flying as an Effect called "Hover"

Consider using a theoretical skill.
"While you maintain this Effect, target other ally Hovers. While hovering, target ally has 50% chance to dodge, +10% chance to critical attack, and +25% movement speed."

"For x seconds, all allies within earshot Hover. Caster is not affected."

Then the hover effect essentially has the player float off the ground, using an animation like a mursaat or any other hovering classes. The affected target would still be constrained by the boundaries of the ground (thus maintaining planar gameplay), but would trigger a series of predetermined buffs/debuffs.

Hover would influence the metagame:

Pets/summons. Terrestrial Pets/Summons e.g. wolf (or moa) could not attack Hovering foes (without skills like "Pounce"), but Phoenix's, Eagles, and Ravens can.

Hovering units vs. other Hovering units would negate bonuses or even trigger/disable other skills.

AI Bots can also be made to selectively choose to attack or ignore certain hovering targets, etc.

Theoretical counters:
ranged skill: "Shoot arrow that deals x damage to target foe. If foe is Hovering, target foe is knocked down for x seconds"

"Strike target foe for x lightning damage. If foe is Hovering, target foe is knocked down, and all skills are disabled for x seconds"

P3hndrx 05:00, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

; Why this is a good idea
* It would be very neat to have parties with a mixture of ground and air units with dynamic properties.
* Adds to the original game mechanics that already work extremely well, and can be modified to maintain balance.
* Utilizes the additional movement axis without compromising edge boundaries.

;Why it may not work out
* Additional character animations are required.
* Meticulous considerations for strategy.
* Some people want full control of their vertical movement.
* Players or the server could be overloaded due to amount of calculations needed.
* Would add a new mechanic that would make balance harder to achieve.
Alternative
Allow spellcasters to hover, and have it be a purely aesthetic effect having no relation to gameplay whatsoever. Similar to how the Mursaat move.

; Why this is a good idea
*It... looks cool?

; Why this is a bad idea
*More developer work.
Add fuzzier spiders to GW2 (Discussion)
All of the spiders in Guild Wars 1 are spindly and completely lacking in any sort of cuddliness value. Please add fuzzy spiders. That is all.

* Some people don't like spiders.
* Spiders aren't supposed 2 b cute n fuzzy =P
**Ever seen a tarantula? Very fuzzy.
* Lore wouldn't explain the fact that players could be spiders
* Spiders wouldn't be able to speak with other races
* It's hard to explain a spider casting Meteor Shower
* LOL? Do you also want worms to be cuddly? And after that the dragons?
<!-- The name of your idea --> (Discussion)
It could be the children of the dragons who stood against them and decided to come join the other side. Could have a humanoid form, but with scales. Armor could resemble scale deformation. Probably they would be good at casting but use some strong race-specific enchantments to boost up for melee

; Why this is a good idea
* Could have the ability to fly.
* The rebelios children of evil seeking bloody revenge could "spice" up the game play alot
* Pretty cool to be a dragon
* as long its only part dragon then its ok I mean they have to kill the 9 ancient dragons don't they? and crawling round on four feet only being able to say rawr!! growl!! *breathe fire*!! would be pointless
* dragons like glint the childern of glint same size moderatly powerful breath attacks there powerful but take time to recharge they can fly making them an allie in a mission or quest,they just have to have there own set of rules, say for pvp for each drake on a team another must be present on the other to even the odds,this balances pvp out and breath attacks are linked to the characters level making it so they can deal alot of damage but wont be able to pound it on an enemie constantly, each breath has a side efect to the target,flame levs burning on all adjacent enemies, ice frozen ground on the area , earth posin on thoose hit,lighting crackd armor, the duratiion and damage all depends on the characters level, therefore a dragon afiliated with glint is nioce,AND would be original as only one game has ever made a playable dragon race and it needs 10 dollars a month to play the ability to be a dragon free after buying the game would get in more customers to.
* dragons are cool period would be awesome idea.

;Why it may not work out
* Might have some drawbacks considering a massive gameplay makeover.
* Is Way Too imbalanced
* Aren't dragons considered eniemes?
* Dragon/humanoid creatures would be generally unexplained.
* Interrupt the point of any human rebellion against dragons
* Would be SOOOO stupid.
* Everybody would want to be a dragon
* The 10 dollars a month to play as a dragon would totally blow of the point that Guild Wars never has a monthly fee
* Do you really think this would fit into the whole environment of Guild Wars? I mean all the races are new and they don't have huge differences to other races and a childish dragon race would never fit into such a world where everything makes sense.
