A gemstone, also known as an anguish gemstone, is the generic name given to the gems found in the Domain of Anguish in Guild Wars Nightfall. They drop rarely as loot from monsters in the Domain of Anguish and are given as reward for completing the Mallyx the Unyielding quest.

There are four different types of gemstones:

Uses
*A set of one of each gemstone (a gemset) can be traded for a Coffer of Whispers from the Keeper of Whispers in the Gate of Anguish.
*15 of each type of gemstone, 60 gemstones in total, can be traded for an Armbrace of Truth from a Spirit of Truth. The Armbrace of Truth can then be traded for a Tormented weapon from the Deacon of Whispers.

Notes
*The rare crafting materials Onyx Gemstone, Diamond, Ruby, and Sapphire can also be referred to as gemstones.
*The inventory icons for the gems were once skill gems for Mesmer, Monk, Warrior, and Necromancer respectively.

Trivia
*One of each type of gemstone was formerly used to unlock the Ritualist hero, Razah during the quest Finding a Purpose. Characters who did that can recover those gemstones by doing the Money Back Guarantee quest.
