Military Ranks (Discussion)
Lets use military ranks like Captan and General to be awarded by the Guild leader. This will be used instead of making officers. This way there is a chain of command within the guild. The higher the rank the more abilities you have to make changes in the guild. For example a Comander would be able to add recruits, but only a General could promote them. I really don't see any real problem with this idea and it is a minor change. I also think this gives the Guild leader more abilities to reward. Medals that a Guild Leader could award out to Guild members would be cool as well. And those medals are only good as long as you are in that Guild. If you leave the Guild you lose those medals.

Why it might work
* I agree with this one. Different ranks would really help. Medals would be a nice simple addition too. Gives some reason to stay and help the guild thrive.
* Giving a rank is a really good idea it helps shows how high a rank an officer is and it can show how loyal they are
* I really like this idea because as a guild leader i find it hard to show that one or two of my officers really deserve to be ranked higher than a few others plus it could help remove people who join a guild simply to be promoted, the guild leader could create an honor system to help the guild thrive

Why it might not work
* Some people don't like hierarchies, or find the idea of pulling rank on someone obnoxious, or don't like glorification of the military in general.

Better rankings in guilds 1(Discussion)
-In response/addition to Dec 15 2008: Military ranks in guilds-
I totally agree with this and i believe that this would give the guild leader better power over his/her guild. i often find that it is hard to decide to promote to officer in my guild. you want people to recruit for you but you don't want half your guild to get kicked. maybe if you had the leader then a second in command group that could add/remove members then a class that allowed for recruiting and finally a group of people with no actual power in a guild (members). this could add a better loyalty system to the guilds and would defiantly help the leaders of guild wars rate and rank player of their guilds as they see fit.

Better rankings in guilds 2(Discussion)
Maybe the guild leader could create their own ranks in their guild additionally giving the leader more power and also allowing for the leader to have his or her own way of leading a guild. so maybe when you join on guild if you left and joined another the ranks might be different and the guild could be run differently all on its own. also maybe more alliance control. so at very least you might be able to see the rosters of the guilds in your alliance. this could allow for better guild leadership in the game.
Social Activities (Discussion)
Different activities

It would be interesting that in the game (PvE) will be introduced different activities that can be both fun and useful for getting money. In GW1 there were challenges (glint, killroy, etc). I would keep this types of challenges but I will also add others that should not involve killing monsters. Call them mini games. Something like:

*puzzle solving for opening chests ( locks are made of different stones that should be moved around in a square to form a presented design – see Onimusha games) I
The looks will require thinking and not just buying a lockpick and click on the chest. There could be more types of locks depending on the region. Usually locks will be Asura made.

*Small gambling / party games. I don’t know how to call them but they will be based on luck or thinking. I saw something similar in Final fantasy X-2 or different games in the same category

*Working activities (repeatable quests) given by the same NPC
- carrying a different number of crates to a location not very far.
- picking up different fruits from a tree farm
- arranging books on the shelves (this could be a puzzle also)
- etc

maybe others have better suggestions here

*Sport activities (repeatable quests) given by the same NPC
- Shooting a number of targets in specified time
- Race - running from one point to another through different checkpoints with/without mounts (horses for example)
- Fighting tournaments (already exist EotN)
- Skill training - use a specified skill to defeat targets (already exists in Factions)

*Buying a house (actually something like HoM) where you can put all sorts of items, furniture, decorations, achievements, etc. It can be accessed through GH by any member of the guild (something like the guild trader where you find a list of all members houses on a list) without the presence of the “owner” but they can’t change anything.
- gives a new reason to earn / spend money

; Why this is a good idea
* it makes some variations in gameplay
*

Why it may not work out
* not very realistic
* boring
