==Walkthrough==
Upon receiving the quest from Mhenlo in [[Ashford Abbey]], head through the portal into the Catacombs. Paulus will be waiting just outside the entrance. When you approach him, he will start walking. Simply follow him, staying close by at all times so he doesn't stop walking.

Although your primary duty is to keep Paulus breathing, he is surprisingly self-sufficient. His Bane Signet is enough to nearly one-shot a [[Raging Cadaver]] or [[Restless Corpse]] when they ambush you along the path. Combined with a couple attacks of your own, you can easily dispatch most of them before they lay a rotting finger on him. If you want to make sure of that, stay slightly ahead of Paulus to draw the initial aggression.

Eventually, Paulus leads you into the [[Swamp Water]] section. While inside, it inflicts continuous health degeneration on both of you. Unless Paulus was damaged earlier or either of you gets bogged down by an enemy, he can actually survive the trip without needing to be healed even once. In fact, you might want to keep a closer look on your own health. For peace of mind (and to practice your new skill), tossing one or two Orisons of Healing his way while in the water will guarantee a safe retrieval.

You shouldn't encounter any enemies on the way back, as you've already cleared the path of undead. Follow Paulus until you both reach the entrance to Ashford Abbey. Wait for the quest to update then walk through the portal and collect your reward from Mhenlo.
