===Legionnaire Armor([[ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Legionnaire armor|Discussion]])===

Since Guild Wars moves 250 years into the future. it would be a refresher to move away from the Medevil look of the armor. That and will introduce sort of a prestigious, and remarkable armor set that people will remember.

Now the armor sets are split down into different subsections depending on either caster or melee.

:Caster: Now these ones I'm more thrilled, excited about. It was influcenced by Military Uniforms. more of the old style then the new uniforms. A good reference to look at would be the Military Officers from Full Metal Alchemist. the blue suit ones. With a strip running down the leg.
Now each caster profession will have differences to their attire.

:Necromancer: Will have a unique patch on the arms to signify their affiliaction. This patch will be a skull. Now the skull can be a light outline, to give it a more subtly look. or can have a full etched skull to give more of a "prominate" look to it. Now the scar pattern will be two cuts running over the right eye, and three parallel vertical lines running up the left cheek.

:Elementalist: Now for this one, we will use the aura from Factions that is available in Kaeing City. This is too give the elementalist's a look of mystery, and a touch of regal. The patch is one that is orignal and gives a look into the collective equilibrium that the elements bring together. So it is a 4 lined circle, each line representing a different element.

:Ritualist: same base model. now the patch will be three ascending lines, each at different lengths. Each line representing the different plains of spirituality that ascend life. the headwrap will be a reskined Regular Luxon mask, with gold chains, and small prayer beads running up and down the front of the headwrap in a U shape.

:Mesmer: same base model. but with a outstretched hand with an eye in the middle of it. representing the physical manifestatin of the middle eye that mesmers are attune with. the mask will be a plain mask, with a red stripe going from each side of the head over the eyes in a horizontal way. wtih a cresent moon and a sun in the middle on the forehead to represent the coming and going of the mesmer's class of styles manipulation.

Monk: same basemodel, but with three V's on the arms to symbolize the monks rank. gives a more commanding nature to the monk. no real skull tattoo, except it will be replaced with a simple bandana, or for more militiristic feel an Army Beret to wear.

Melee:
Warrior: just a re-emergence of the Roman Legionnaires. gives a better feel for the warrior. as it
is a rank and file solider that relies on others to survive.

Assassin: Just like the entire base model of the caster, except their is no patch on the arms,
it is bare. Symbolizing the fact that the assassin relies on no one in the army but himself. and
that they answer to no one excpet the ogliacrchy of their order, of the most senior/veteran of their
proffession. the mask is a simple cloth mask that covers the face. While instead of one stripe
running down the leg there are two stipes.

Dervish: Now here is a profession that will be a stand alone as it already is.
An etched breastplate with a skull or archaic sun to represent the coming and going of life. and
they are the crossroads that determine life and death. The skirt will be in the front and back:
three lines of chain running parrallel at different lenghts near the bottom in a U shape down the
front and back of the skirt. the sides of the skirt will just be a plated leg guard similar to those
of the samurai. The hood is a full reaper hood, with archaic etchings embeded into the cloth,
and the entire face is hidden excepet for the nose and mouth. The gauntlets will be plated gauntlets,
leaving the arms bare, from the shoulder to the elbow.

Paragon: This will be a more regal look. Wearing a light breastplate, that takes on dyes very
softly. Now from the left shoulder, a robe covers the entire left arm, and half the breastplate
leading down to the X crossed belt to hold the robe in place. The gauntlet will be a hand wrap,
that gives a simplistic, but regal look to the armor. From the belt down, which is the leggings
will be like the bottom of a kimono(used for reference) that extends to a bit over the knees.
Where right where the robe leaves off the boots take place, simple, winged boots.
On the right arm, there is an armband that is etched with runes that represent the sun and the stars.
This gives the Paragon a full view of Perfection, an air of Angelic appearance.

Long ranged:
Ranger: Now taking the Caster base model, role up the sleeves to the elbow to reveal the arms.
Now instead of the elbow down to the hand being bare, it is replaced with plated gauntlets.
The leggings will be like the casters, but two stripes running down the legs. Boots are same
as the casters.

; Why this is a good idea
* it would look just excellent, and it moves away from the whole Medevil armor.
* gives a whole new perspective on how a unified system can look and dress almost the same and still be a force to be reckoned with

;Why it may not work out
* name unrelated to suggestion
* might take away from the whole aspect of the Guild Wars game, as it is set in the medevil eras, and not so much as a Legionnaire esque style
* No, it's not 500 years later, it's 250. Quite a difference.
* 250 years is not that long a time, excpecially in a regressed fantasy setting with magic. Plus it would be stupid.
* Tyria is an imaginary world, it can't really become the same as our world =P
