List of hostile NPCs

[[Dryder]]s are spider-like [[creature type|creatures]] that can be found throughout [[Tyria]] and [[the Mists]].

They are almost exclusively offensive [[spellcaster]]s, mostly encountered as [[hex]]-based [[necromancer]]s throughout [[Tyria]], and more frequently as [[elementalist]]s and [[mesmer]]s in [[The Mists]], where they usually serve [[Dhuum]].

They tend to prefer very cold or icy places, such as the [[Shiverpeaks]] mountains, or on the contrary extremely hot places, such as the [[Ring of Fire Islands]].

They also seem to feed on souls as they are frequently seen next to [[corpse|dead bodies]] or souls, and their skills ([[Soul Leech]], [[Soul Torture]]) further references that.

According to [[Nicholas the Traveler]], Frostfire Dryders have poisonous fangs, however none of the Dryders in the game can actually inflict [[poison]].

* Dryders in the Depths of Tyria use [[Dryder's Feast]], but none of those found in the game use [[Dryder's Defenses]] as there are no [[Ranger]] dryders.
