[[Durmand]] is a [[Kryta]]n historian. He has helped to establish the facts behind [[Saul's Story|the rise of the White Mantle]], [[Togo's Story|the tengu accords]], and [[Turai's Story|the Battle of Jahai]], as well as [[Gwen's Story|Gwen's flight north]]. He also worked to establish the origins of the [[Margonite]]s, the [[grawl]]'s faith, and even the [[Orr]]ian [[undead]]. Likewise, he has scribes in his employ constantly transcribing books. He was helped many times with his research by [[Nicholas the Traveler|Nicholas Sandford]].
