I nominate User:Tanaric (talk, contribs). He handles his responsibilities well, seems pretty wary of the common traps and pitfalls of communities managing themselves, and strongly respects the consensus and policy processes, yet doesn't just cater to popular opinion. Even when I've disagreed with his judgment, I've felt confident that he puts a lot of extra thought and effort (compared to most people) to try to have things be done fairly. It would be nicer if he had more direct contributions to main namespace, but I wouldn't hold it against him for this position because it's obvious enough from his participation/contributions elsewhere on the wiki that he has a good grasp of current policies/practices regardless. --Rezyk 19:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
