The Age of the Bat is the era in the Canthan calendar. It began in 1 BE (509 CC) and ended in 221 AE (731CC). The beginning of this age is marked by the 11th Canthan Emperor, Chang Hai, becoming Weh no Su and taking the title of "ascendant emperor" instead of "emperor lord."
