King Edward

According to lore provided to Asian websites, King Edward is the great-grandson of King Doric. During his reign, he offended the gods by proclaiming that the gods never answered prayers and that humans should pray to themselves, breaking Dwayna's holy chalice in the process. As a result, Dwayna cursed the lands with disease.

Following a full year from his declaration and beginning of the curse, half of his kingdom had died to the diseases, and Edward prayed for forgiveness until total exhaustion. He begged for her to save the people from the disease instead of himself, and moved by his selflessness she did so. After this, Edward worshiped Dwayna devoutly.

Notes

• It is unclear whether King Edward can be assumed canon, as only some parts of Asian promotional lore for Abaddon was confirmed later in Guild Wars 2.
