This article is about the charmable animal. For the collector during Farewell to Gaile, see Lioness (collector).

Lionesses are the female counterpart to Lions, found in several places on mainland Elona.

Locations

• Core
  • The Battle Isles
    • Zaishen Menagerie Grounds (levels 5, 12, 15, and 20, depending on unlock progress)
• Nightfall
  • Kourna
    • Barbarous Shore (in the southeast corner)
    • Jahai Bluffs (level 12 aggressive; northwest from Command Post, prior to completing the Great Zehtuka)
  • Vabbi
    • Forum Highlands
    • Holdings of Chokhin
    • Resplendent Makuun
    • Vehjin Mines (right outside Basalt Grotto and Jennur's Horde)
    • Wilderness of Bahdza
    • Yatendi Canyons (south of Wehhan Terraces)

Notes

• Lionesses have similar skin to Melandru's Stalkers except for the coloring.
• Lionesses deal slashing damage.
• The group of Lions and Lionesses that normally appears in Vehjin Mines just outside Basalt Grotto fails to appear (most probably) if the quest Coffer of Joko is active and Master of Whispers is in the party. The exact conditions are disputed.
• Unlocking cost: 1Silver Zaishen Coin plus 100 or 1,000 Balthazar Faction (Common, Elona)

Anomaly. There is a group of aggressive, but charmable, level 12 lions and lionesses northwest of the Command Post portal in Jahai Bluffs. This group is only available before you complete the quest the Great Zehtuka.

Trivia

• In Guild Wars, several lions and lionesses can be found together in a group; however, a pride of real-world lions will only contain one or two males. Young male lions are ejected from the pride around the age of three, to live as nomads until they can form or overtake another pride.
