Outside Frostmaw's Burrows, a Norn storyteller once regaled listeners with tales of a great wurm named Frostmaw that burrowed through the mountains. According to the tale, the wurm could not be killed. Many great warriors had fallen while attempting to slay the beast. Frostmaw and its brood, it seems, were distant cousins to the sand, chaos, and desert wurms. Ice wurms have a thick blubber layer beneath their tough skin, which insulates them from the frigid temperatures of the Shiverpeaks. It also makes them all but impervious to harm, whether it's from phyical or magical means. Unfazed by the warnings, we ventured into the wurm's lair to test our steel and skills against these formidable opponents.

Notes

• Without the required quest, you cannot pass the door to the staircase next to the Inscribed Stone.
• The number of ice boulders increases in Hard mode.
  • Particularly on level 5, in Normal mode it is void of all enemies and traps before the final chamber with the wurms.
• On the fifth level, a Locked Chest always spawns after defeating the initial three Wurms in Frostmaw's area.
• This dungeon is rich in Light of Deldrimor treasures; see the talk page for details.
• Four Norn allies will participate in combat; they are tanky, especially while they are in Bear Form.
• Completion of this dungeon will fill in page #6 of the Master Dungeon Guide storybook.

Trivia

• There are no Dungeon or Boss Locks in this dungeon; gates will open when the foes that guard them have been defeated.
• The fourth level is the same design as Secret Lair of the Snowmen.
