Item description for Healing Prayers (Pre-Nerf version) and Blood Magic (current version).
A knife-shaped version of the Grim Cesta, this focus has the largest health penalty among all weapons in the game and is most notable for its use in the 55 Monk build.
Acquisition
- Ascalon
- Cities of Ascalon quest
Stats
- Energy +6 (Requires 5 Blood Magic)
- Health -50
- Energy +3 (while Enchanted)
- Energy +3 (while Hexed)
- Energy +5 (while Health is below 40%)
Dye
Dye affects the entire item. The item will dye to the color specified with the wrappings dying slightly darker than the rest of the item. The default color can be closely replicated using yellow dye.
Notes
- Factions or Nightfall monks with Melandru's Accord cannot acquire this item, since the quest Cities of Ascalon is only available to Prophecies characters.
- The largest health penalty that can be obtained through other weapons is -20 with the inscription "Life is Pain" or its equivalent inherent mod.
- However, many 55-style builds focused on damage reduction rather than health regeneration still work with 105 health, and variants based on Mark of Protection work at even higher health thresholds.

Trivia
- This item originally used a Healing Prayers requirement. This was changed to Blood Magic between June-July 2005 in a game update, which could be 20050511, 20050608 or an undocumented one (source and research).
