Doublecast skills

Double Dragon Double Dragon Gust Gust Mirror of Ice Mirror of Ice Stone Sheath Stone Sheath

Overview

Suicidal Elementalists

Nobody likes skills such as Inferno because it causes AI to move front-line as well as force healer/prot monks and restoration rits to follow, and risk team's survival. With the new update, we have skills with additional funcionalities: these skills will be worth observing which allies will elementalists target and when. Verify if the second functionality is being wasted as doubtly AI will position itself at front, and then cast any of these spells.

  • Adjusted the AI’s usage of the following skills: Double Dragon, Stone Sheath, Gust, and Mirror of Ice.

Preparations

You want elementalists to deal heavy damage, either AoE or spike. I dont know WTF Robert Gee was thinking when he lowered Thunderclap from dealing 15...75 to 10...50 and changing Dazed to Cracked Armor and Weakness, which almost feels like a necromancer update.

The first question that comes to mind is why would a player change the favourite skills counterparts to doublecast spells. If somebody is going to change massive AoE with these... it certainly won't be in regular play.

Where and when would we prefer the newly buffed elites?
  • Build making: Recharge time.
From Searing Flames to Double Dragon: We lose a 2s recharge for a 20s (!) recharge.
From Invoke Lightning to Gust: We lose a 6s recharge for a 10s recharge.
From Shatterstone to Mirror of Ice: We lose a 8s recharge for a 12s recharge.

This means that whatever build we prepare now, we will need more spammable skills company.

Unless somebody presents a good situation when doublecast skills deal more DPS than the counterpart elites, this testing will not progress beyond Preparations.
