monitor cuts out after install

Just got GW 1 back, but when in finishes downloadding the files in auto launches, and my monitor turns off, the sound stays on but i can't do anything. when i tab out it pretty much crashes and forces me to do a hard restart. ive updated my drivers and reinstalled but still no luck. Getting blocked at Account Creation

I'm at the place where I'm supposed to give my email addy and my password. It won't accpt any password I input. This is a new account I'm creating, and I don;t understand how any password I choose can be invalid. I can't contact GW support because I need an account to do that.

Compass Hero Movement

Why can I no longer move and set my Henchmen or Heroes using the compass feature? My 4 campaign level 20 Character can't use the compass movement for my Heroes.

Devoting minis in HOM

You want to tell me why I and many many loyal players of this dying game can't log in to KAMADAN? Days now it hangs and nothing proceeds. I even uninstalled \ to make sure it wasn't my loader, or computer. Nope, it is the Outpost not loading at all. Not cool as many new players are frustrated already with the game and the glitches. How come lately things are let slide. Also. The quest for the Cemetery for Guard posts two didn't even acknowledge and that pissed me off. I had to do the mission three times and every time, it didn't clear the posts! All the foes, the guardsman were killed. I successfully killed them and disabled all the traps. Next. When I try to do the weapon 20% to customize it. The action won't allow it to be customized. As for GuildWars 2. Not a lot of positive comments from people.

Thanks for listening to me, I hope you look into this because the game is still being sold and it should not be let go all because you made a game that is not at all what the nonstop hype made it out to be. It isn't all that. Visual yes, but game play etc. Awful. Should have left it be. GuildWars used to be so fun, now it is turning into a bore. Glitch glitch glitch.

This kamadan thing has only been happening for the past 8hrs or so, not days. It happened once before and is probably a problem at AWS (amazon web services, gw servers are on amazon servers). It is only amer district of kama/gtob/pre ascalon. Login on any character that is is any other town. Change to international district, that is account wide. After doing so, you can login on any character and play as normal with no issues. The 2 devs left on gw1 are in usa, they have to sleep once in a while. boss summoning and node/ guild wars

so im trying to summon the boss Bheg but every time I try to summon him, via scroll in my inventory I get the message "you cannot attack the summoned boss on servers with node/conquest wars in progress. Getting to Lions Arch from the Nightfall campaign (Khamadan)

I've got a level 14 character and have consulted the wiki 3 or 4 times I think you're supposed to see Tenderlin or Mhenlo done both Tenderlin doesn't work and can't find Mhenlo (not at docks) I'm doing something wrong can't figure out what though. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 50.108.83.195 (talk).

char slots

The information you're looking for is on our character slot page. Twenty-eight is the current maximum. Greener (talk) 08:27, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
To further clarify this. Each account can purchase up to 28 additional character slots. Each expansion; ie. Prophecies Factions and Nightfall, each awards the player with two (2) character slots each.

So in conclusion. Have the three expansions + purchase of 28 additional character slots, you will have 34 in total. TikkaLeFem (talk) 00:43, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

The maximum amount of characters per account is 36. Each account can purchase up to 26 additional character slots. Each expansion awards the player with; ie. Prophecies - four (4) character slots, Factions - two (2) character slots and Nightfall - two (2) character slots. So in conclusion; having the three expansions + purchase of 26 additional character slots, you will have 34 in total and the only known way to get the full 36 is by acquiring the 'Collectors Edition' of select expansions. Obtaining heroes / redeeming in game rewards

Bought the complete edition yesterday and started with factions (because it’s what I started with years ago) But what I’d like to do is get to level ten and go over to the nightfall region to get my heroes, then go back and continue to level and upgrade my heroes while i level.

So basically I wang to play through the whole complete edition with heroes instead of partying up.

Yes, possible. It will be a bit tough in teh very beginning, since you won't have skills unlocked for your heroes and won't have money to upgrade their equipment. So you might want to consider using henchmen instead. For example, at a certain point they get elite skills, which your heroes might still lack.

You finish the 2 missions on SHing Jea Island, (following th eprimary quest) use the ferry from Seitung Harbor to the Kaineng Docks. Then unlock The Marketplace by folloing the quest. There, you ignore the primary quest and go north thru Bukdek Byway to Kaineng Centre (there you can also find max armor). From there you can go to the Nightfall Campaign using the quest Sunspears in Cantha. In parallel, you can go slightly south from Kaineng Centre and thru the Chasm to go to Eye of the North and unlock 3 heroes there (2 immediately and getting Gwen is also extremely easy / quick. It was removed, now you can sign up for 2 step verification using sms to your phone for added security instead. (btw you use the gw2 site support section to do it iirc, ur gw accnt info is shared between games) Durp da durp (talk) 00:42, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

Kournan Coins are reward trophies obtained from completing many quests in Kourna. and A Zaishen Coin is a reward trophy obtained by completing Zaishen Challenge Quests, as a random drop from Zaishen Strongboxes or as a award for completing certain non-Zaishen Challenge quests (e.g. The Rescue Attempt). so, no. black dye

It seems like black dye is no longer available. Has it been terminated? Also, is there a way to mix different dyes to make it kinda black? I've tried everything. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 73.188.83.66 (talk).

The dye trader works according to demand and supply (like material and rune traders). If too many players bought black dye recently, the traders will have zero black dyes for sale for a while. This eventually resets again, but until that happens the only way to obtain some is buying from other players or as drops from enemies in PvE. - Infinite - talk 23:21, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
the reason theres no black dye is because the trader is bugged on the black itself, the value is currently 550g, but it will only offer 1g, and nobody will sell the black dye for 1g, thats how the stock will never be replenish. My feeling is a glitch, since this seems to be happening since February and here it is almost June - or - Simply a "Supply / Demand". Does anyone know when the Dye Trader restocks? Nightly, Weekly, etc? Is there a lot of 'Black Dye' Trading ?. TikkaLeFem (talk) 23:31, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Builds

Can't save or load any of my Builds. makes it really annoying to switch into different modes with one char. PLEASE HELP

Hi James, sorry for your difficulty with loading 'Builds' - These suggestions may help.

Skills and Attribute Panel (default keyboard shortcut 'K')

1) TEMPLATE -

By pressing the floppy disk icon in the top left corner, templates can be saved and loaded for future use. If a template has been saved with a primary and/or secondary profession you do not have access to on that specific character you will not be allowed to load it. -- The 'Floppy Symbol

  • Used to load templates you have previously saved.
  • Save to Template.
  • Used to save templates.
  • Manage Templates.
  • Used to rename and delete templates.
  • Template Code

Also used to view your current skills and attributes in a separate panel that can be sent through chat.
2) MANUAL TEMPLATE MANAGEMENT (Skills) -

  • Each template is saved as a separate *.txt files on the local computer, containing the coding string for the template. The default locations are:
   Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Templates
   Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 10: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates
  • There are sub-folders for "Skills" and "Equipment".

Dealing with the template code is easiest done in-game. However, if you get a code that your character cannot load or from some non-in-game method (e.g. Guild's web site), you can create a *.txt file (such as with Notepad) in the stored directory and enter the code (and only the code, not a trailing EOL) into the file and saving it.

3) SKILL TEMPLATE LIMIT - There is a limit to how many skill templates you can have in the 'Root' directory of Skills. This limit is a maximum of 550 templates, however, this can be circumvented by using sub-folders. Also can greatly ease the management of large numbers of templates.

Why is there no party menu anymore?

P key or look in the menu. Also if you look in the menu, find party, and, drag its icon somewhere on your screen you now have a party button on screen. By default the game relies on hotkeys for everything though. Durp da durp (talk) 18:24, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Runes

When will runes that are missing return to the vendor?

There is a difference between Merchant and Trader NPCs, Merchants always have stock, Traders buy from players and only sell what players sell them. The game population is low and the majority of players use certain meta builds, so low supply, but high demand of certain runes / insignis. Just don't ask why no black dye at the dye trader... he really *is* broken for black dye (i ain't selling it to him for 1g lol). Durp da durp (talk) 09:38, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

No sound for whisper notifications

Hi there. I notice that I get no sound when someone whispers me, but my friend does. Any thoughts?

Check in your Options (standard key: F11) under Sound. Your Effects volume might be off/low? Or the UI? Play around with the setting there. Steve1 (talk) 13:47, 8 January 2023 (UTC)

Friends dialog box

Is there a way to add a note to a friend that you just listed in friends box to let you know something about the friend???

You can left click on the little icon to the left of their name in the list and hit "rename" and use that as a short note/name you will remember, but it's kinda short as far as number of characters/letters allowed. Durp da durp (talk) 17:21, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Signet of Capture

Returning GWAMM player after a 10 year break. Playing a new character and noticed the skill trader doesn’t sell Signets of Capture for any characters on my account. Is this a glitch or did it change?

Guild Alliance

Is it possible for a guild to change affiliation from Luxon to Kurzik and vice verca once an affiliation is established?35.146.8.13 01:10, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

An entire alliance must be Lux OR Kurz, so any one member guild wanting to change forces them to leave the ally. Even if the entire ally wants to change, the leader guild *can't* toggle lux/kurz for everyone, so you're forced to seperate, swap in Cav/HzH, and remake the ally if wanted. It's kinda an issue if say, you keep an ally with a deceased friend's guild or something... but that's kinda niche. Durp da durp (talk) 03:00, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

About 3023

From January 6, 2024, my account was suspended, and I am confident that I did not do anything against the game rules. The only change was that I was on a business trip due to work reasons, so my account was logged in to another city. However, I had security verification and passed it. I wrote to the support team, but they all replied perfunctorily and did not help me solve the actual problem. Of course, after the 6th, Many players have experienced account suspensions, and I want to know what's going on with the current support team? I, as a normal player, have been playing games for so long and have been banned for no reason. And those merchants and robots in the game are still running, and I cannot contact the leaders of customer service, nor do I know how to retrieve my account. I hope to get the answer here

You *won't* find answers here, it's just a player maintained wiki, not an arenanet contact method. There is one active anet employee on the wiki who posts update notes, but he has nothing to do with account support. I had a problem with the quest and had to abandon it. I found I could not get the quest back. Any suggestions how I can get the To Vabbi quest back as now I can not move forward with Night Fall.

summon mount

I earned a raptor at lvl 10 on new character (not a free trial). The mount is in the collections and is not locked, but I cannot summon. I checked my keybind and it is correct for summon mount. I'm baffled why I cannot summon my raptor.

Problems with graphics

Perhaps your settings in-game had been reset. Try F11 "Options" under 'Graphics'; you will be able to adjust; visual quality, terrain quality, reflections, texture quality, shadow quality, shader quality, and full screen gamma, etc.. Tikka LeFem talk (talk) 15:58, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

Bowgrip of the Ranger

Hello,

I've been wanting to try a certain ranger build and I know there are weapon attachments that add +5 of the specific attribute, like expertise for rangers for example, to the weapon. So yeah, that is my question. Is there a Bowgrip of the Ranger? Or, can you only get second profession Bow grip of the mesmer...etc..? If so, dang it.

yes, there is a bow grip of the ranger now, it gives a set 5 expertise to you, not +5 expertise. It's more meant for giving a little expertise to an A/R, or another non primary ranger character. Of the (Profession) should help Durp da durp (talk) 03:18, 24 August 2025 (UTC)

Why do the rune traders completely out of runes?

Bonus weopons

Runes

Can a superior rune be attached to a pc of head armor? ie marksmanship +1 plus superior +3

Yes, runes can go on any piece of armor, usually people use their primary dmg attribute rune on their head to get the additional +1 (especially on sets with "+1 items attribute" you need the 'good dmg' rune there to get the additional boost). The headpieces with an attribute boost like +1 marksmanship say "stacking" they *will* stack with a runes boost. The "non-stacking" on runes just means you can't use two of the same rune on different armor pieces, such as a marksmanship +1 rune on your legs *and* a marksmanship +3 on your head. If you use two of the same attribute rune you don't get the positive effects from both, but if they are both major or superior runes you *do* lose the health deficit from both. This what i am being told: The headpiece bonus and the rune bonus on the same armor slot do NOT stack. The game takes ONLY the highest value.** This is why: +1 headpiece + Superior (+3) rune = +3 total, not +4 +1 headpiece + Major (+2) rune = +2 total, not +3 +1 headpiece + Minor (+1) rune = +1 total, not +2 The wiki commenter misunderstood the meaning of “stacking.”

Clarify please. when is add to the head without adding attribute points it will show +1 and +3 = 4

look at the helm it says "+1 stacking" Stacking plus a non stacking rune, yes it works. You just can't use two or more *actual runes*, the attribute bonuses are non-stacking on runes, that are the same at once, like marksmanship on every armor piece. Use a +1+3 on your helm then take off the helm you will lose 4 from your attribute panel. It 100% works as it says.Durp da durp (talk) 21:15, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

I can only assume that you're playing Prophecies, as Factions and Nightfall tutorial areas have skill trainers. Prophecies' tutorial area is special - there are no skill trainers until leaving the tutorial area, with the only skills being available as quest rewards. The only warrior skills available are rewards from Van the Warrior just outside Ascalon City, Warmaster Grast just inside Green Hills County, and Duke Barradin and Little Thom, who are both inside Barradin's Estate. — snogratFile:User Snograt signature.png 11:12, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

How do I control a bone horror?

You just summon them. They attack any and every foe in aggro range then follow you if every foe is dead. There is no way to actually physically 'control' them. (Unless you mean a masterless minion then Verata's Gaze takes 'control' of one, it will become 'your' minion, but be brainless meat like every 'controlled' minion) Durp da durp (talk) 00:45, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

I had an old account reactivated, which was great except that very little was unlocked. I bought skill packs to get them back, but the Core Skills are still unavailable! J'aimerais savoir si, vous aussi, vous avez un problème que je rencontre sur la version mobile ?

Sur la version mobile, j'arrive à intégrer les héros dans mon groupe, comme sur la version PC, il n'y a aucun souci à ce niveau-là ; par contre, quand je veux intégrer des mercenaires de base, par exemple en début de jeu quand on n'a pas encore de héros, eh bien, cela m'est totalement impossible sur la version Android, mais sur la version PC, oui.

Avez-vous le même bug que moi ?

I’d like to know if any of you are also experiencing the same issue I’m having on the mobile version?

On the mobile version, I can add heroes to my party just like on the PC version—there’s no problem there. However, when I try to add basic mercenaries—for example, at the start of the game when you don’t have any heroes yet—well, it’s completely impossible on the Android version, but it works on the PC version.

Are any of you experiencing the same bug as me?
