Sacrifice

Sacrifice cost is a resource cost required by a few skills, mostly from the necromancer profession. After successfully activating these skills, you forfeit a fraction of your maximum health, making it possible to sacrifice yourself to death.

Sacrifice vs. your health

Sacrifice counts as health loss and cannot be eliminated by any means, although you can reduce sacrifice costs by lowering your maximum health. Similar to Life Stealing, if a character uses a skill or effect that would sacrifice more Health than it actually has, it will lose all of its health plus 1. Health sacrifice also ignores the short span after resurrection during which accumulating of Death Penalty would be prevented.

Skills with a sacrifice cost

Well spells can be created without a corpse by sacrificing 66% of your maximum health.
Necrotic Traversal can be cast without a corpse by sacrificing 30...22...20% of your maximum health.
