Skill Type. Blessings are often a special temporary skill bonus granted by an NPC.
Acquisition
Blessings are granted by the following NPCs, typically requiring a payment in gold:
- Avatars of gods, summoned at a statue of the respective god.
- Factions: Luxon and Kurzick Priests at Resurrection Shrines in the Echovald Forest or The Jade Sea.1
- Nightfall: Ghostly Priests, Forgotten Wardens, Ghostly Scouts, Sunspear Scouts, Vabbian Scouts, Wandering Priests, and Whispers Informants (at Resurrection Shrines).2
- Eye of the North: Ascalonian Refugees, Beacon of Droknar, Ebon Vanguard Scouts and various Asura or Norn (at Resurrection Shrines).2
- Depending on the location of the Kurzick-Luxon border.
- Free. However, some will stop offering bounties in normal mode after the player character has achieved certain ranks in their promotion or reputation title.
Characteristics
- Blessings cannot be removed or abused by foes; they do not satisfy the while enchanted requirement of upgrade components or skills.
- Blessings of the same type do not stack.
- They end when you zone, but not when you die.
- Blessings granted by avatars of the gods last 20 minutes except for Holy Blessing.
- Most blessings are only applied to individual player characters; the exceptions are Holy Blessing and the Morale Boost from "To courage". Holy Blessing is also applied to all living party members (i.e. all heroes, henchmen, and player characters). The Morale Boost from "To courage" is also applied to all party members (living or dead); however, the Morale Boost from Favor of the Gods in Factions and Nightfall is not granted to all party members. This allows one player character to pay for Holy Blessing and the Morale Boost from "To courage" for their entire party.

- Using Avatar Blessings, it is possible to have rank 1 of any attribute regardless of your profession and whether or not your account has access to it.
- Most blessings are campaign-specific, although many of the avatar blessings are available in Factions and Nightfall.
- Maintained enchantments are also referred to as "blessings" in some tooltips.
