Walkthrough
Two of your newly acquired skills, Sever Artery and Gash require a sword to function. Equip the Starter Sword provided by Warmaster Grast and head southwest down the road. Along the way, you will encounter several non-hostile Stone Elementals. You may try out your sword skills on them to learn that these creatures of earth are immune to Bleeding, rendering your new condition-based combo ineffective.
Continue past the elementals to find a a patrol of three Grawl Invaders close by. Being flesh and blood, they are susceptible to your blade. Use your basic attack to build up your Adrenaline. Once you have amassed 3 strikes of Adrenaline, use Sever Artery to inflict the Bleeding condition. When you reach 5 strikes of Adrenaline, follow up with Gash to inflict a Deep Wound on the bleeding target. Notice that each adrenal skill has its own independent Adrenaline pool.
Once the Grawl threat has been eliminated, return to Grast to claim your reward.

Dialogue
Initial dialogue
- Warmaster Grast
- "I should warn you that there's trouble on the road. A group of Grawl invaders have camped out not far from here, and have been harassing travelers. If you'd like, I can teach you a thing or two to help drive them off. I'll even lend you a sword if you need one."
Reward dialogue
- Warmaster Grast
- "Ah, that's a relief. The only good grawl's a dead Grawl, I say."
Trivia
- Unlike the other quests required to get a secondary profession in Pre-Searing (A Monk's Mission, The Ranger's Companion, A Mesmer's Burden, The Elementalist Experiment and The Necromancer's Novice), this quest does not feature the profession in its name. Considering that there is another quest called Warrior's Challenge, it may have been that these two quests were originally meant to be swapped during development.
